When someone dials your DialogBot phone number, your AI assistant picks up instantly, handles the conversation, and gives you a full transcript and analytics when the call ends.

How it works

1

Caller dials your number

Your AI assistant is reachable on a local, toll-free, or international number you provision through DialogBot — or via a SIP integration with your existing phone system.
2

AI assistant answers

The assistant greets the caller using your configured voice and opening message, then follows your system prompt to handle the conversation — answering FAQs, collecting information, or routing to a human agent.
3

Optional mid-call actions

Depending on how you’ve configured your assistant, it can:
  • Transfer the caller to a human operator
  • Schedule an appointment on your calendar
  • Check order statuses or look up account data
  • Collect structured information for follow-up
4

Call ends and data is captured

The assistant closes the call politely, or hands off to a queue if needed. You receive a full transcript, recording, and call analytics in your dashboard.

What you need to get started

A phone number

Provision a number through DialogBot or connect your own via SIP. See Configuring your inbound assistant.

An AI assistant

Create an assistant, set it to inbound mode, and write a system prompt that fits your use case.
Start by provisioning a phone number and linking it to an inbound-configured AI assistant. From there, test by calling the number from your own phone.
