If your business already has a phone system — whether an on-premise PBX or a cloud VoIP platform — you can integrate it with Intellixent rather than replacing it. Intellixent connects through standard SIP trunking, so you keep your existing numbers, routing rules, and carrier relationships.

How SIP Trunk Integration Works

You provide Intellixent with your SIP credentials (server address, username, and password). Intellixent configures a trunk internally and uses it for both inbound and outbound calls:
  • Inbound: Calls arriving at your phone system are routed through the trunk to your AI assistant.
  • Outbound: Your AI assistant places calls using your existing numbers and carrier.
For full setup instructions, see the SIP Integration guide.

Integration Approaches

SIP Trunk

The standard approach. Share your SIP credentials with Intellixent and configure a direct trunk for inbound and outbound AI calling.

Caller ID Forwarding

If your PBX already handles routing, pass calls to Intellixent only when specific conditions are met — for example, after an IVR selection routes to the AI queue.

Hybrid Model

Keep human agents on your existing PBX and use Intellixent for high-volume or after-hours calls. Both systems run side by side.

Hybrid Setup Example

A common hybrid configuration routes calls by time of day:
During business hours, calls go to your human agents on the PBX as usual. After hours, your PBX routes incoming calls to Intellixent via the SIP trunk, where your AI assistant handles them.
This approach lets you automate high-volume or off-hours traffic without replacing your existing call center infrastructure.

Things to Know Before You Start

SIP traffic may require you to open specific firewall ports or whitelist Intellixent’s IP addresses on your network. Check with your IT team or PBX administrator before configuring the integration.
When using your own PBX or VoIP provider, carrier charges from your existing provider still apply in addition to Intellixent usage fees. Review the SIP pricing details for what Intellixent charges on its side.
Integrating via SIP does not transfer your numbers to Intellixent. You keep full control and management of your numbers through your current provider.
