Intellixent supports three ways to connect a phone number to your AI assistant. Choose the option that best fits how you want to handle inbound and outbound calls.

Dedicated (normal) numbers

Rent a number directly from Intellixent.
  • Available for both inbound and outbound calls
  • Billed as a monthly rental fee
  • Supports multiple parallel calls on a single number
  • Purchased and managed entirely within the Intellixent dashboard
Best for: Businesses that need a dedicated business line and want the simplest setup with no existing telephony infrastructure.

SIP integration (VoIP/PBX)

Connect an existing VoIP or PBX number via SIP trunk.
  • Works for both inbound and outbound calls
  • Lets you keep your existing numbers while using Intellixent’s AI
  • Configured in the dashboard under Phone Numbers
Best for: Businesses with an established PBX or VoIP provider who want to add AI without changing their existing telephony setup. See the SIP Integration Guide for step-by-step setup instructions.

Caller ID (outbound only)

Use an existing phone number — such as your personal or business line — as the Caller ID for outbound calls.
  • Displays your chosen number on the recipient’s caller ID
  • Ownership verified via a one-time code (OTP) or a short verification call
  • Does not support inbound calls — the AI will not answer calls to this number
Best for: Businesses that only need outbound calling and want calls to appear from a number customers already recognise.
